Trinity and Water

Text: Joh. 7:38

Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.

Question in beginning of lesson: What comes to mind when you think about water?

Question at the end of lesson: Can you now also associate God living within us the next time you think about water?

The concept of the Trinity can be explained by the 3 forms of water: Ice, Water and Steam.

Even though ice, water and steam don’t look of feel the same they are all the same element: water (H2O).

Just as we cannot live without water, we also cannot live without God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

Facts about water:

  1. Roughly 70% of the human body consists of water.
  2. 75% of the earth’s surface is covered with water.
  3.  Water boils at 100ºC (at sea level).
  4.  Water freezes at 0ºC.
  5.  A human can live without food for a month but only for a week without water.
  6. Ice weighs 9% lighter than water, that’s why ice floats in a glass of water.

Class Discussion:

  1. Of how many stories in the Bible can you think that include water? Here are a few:
  • Creation – the Spirit of God glided of the waters
  • Noah and the Ark – God used water to cleanse the earth
  • Ten plagues – water was turned to blood
  • Jesus turned water into wine
  • Jesus was baptized with water

2. How are we baptized?

  • With water
  • In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Teks: Joh. 7:38

  3.  Water kook teen 100ºC (by seevlak).
  4.  Water vries by 0ºC.
  6. Ys weeg 9% ligter as water, daarom dryf ys in ‘n glas water.

Klas bespreking:

Hier is ‘n paar:
    3. Tien plae – God het water in bloed verander
    4. Jesus het water in wyn verander
    5. Jesus is gedoop met water
  2. Hoe word ons gedoop?
    1. Met water
